Once upon a time

Once upon a time, two lovely ladies drove all the way from Kamloops, BC to make dreams happen. They drove all day to deliver a 1962 Airstream Safari to Richmond, BC. We were so excited to see them pull up with the trailer. Relieved they showed up, being that you just never know with Craigslist!

We had big plans for the Safari. Sadly the next few months the trailer would just sit waiting to be re-purposed into a mobile smoothie business.

Finally we found the perfect fellow to help turn the inside into a functional beauty. (Pictures to come of the inside once I finish painting it on the inside.)

Polished the bottom half, now gotta do the top part
When the trailer was almost done on the inside, I had to take it away to Langley to a wonderful friend's house to strip away the clear coat and polish her up, so you could see your reflection in it! The weather was so terrible, couldn't have picked a worse time to take it away to work on the outside. She sat for a week, in the snowy cold. But, finally the weather cheered up a bit. I got to work on her. Wearing umpteen layers of clothing and mittens to keep warm. Using chemicals that felt like they were melting my face off. It was so cold. Finally towards the end, listened to my mom's genius advice about getting a patio heater. I used that and it was awesome! Totally kept me warm. I discovered that I could polish forever and ever if I wanted to. I made a mental choice to only do 3 coats and then to leave the rest till spring. I brought the shine up as I best I could, and took her back to finish up the inside.

She's done on the outside (for now!)

I can't even begin to describe what it is like to tow this baby. It's so scary. If I go above 80km/h it starts to shake. I swear I age 5 years every time I tow her. The highway is so scary. How those two ladies drove her through the mountains is beyond me! I'd be pretty happy to be able to tow her going just 50km/h but, it tends to get people a little upset.

We are soooo close to finishing it all up. I just have to finish painting inside!

We have our new location all worked out & will be moving there late Monday or Tuesday. My truck's heater core just broke, so that will be getting fixed on Monday hopefully.

She will be getting branded on the 22nd!

YAY!!! So close to being ALL done.
